Roe's Deli Fuels the Coalition's Meetings

For the staff of the Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless, Park Station is a frequent place for meetings. Whether its a large meeting with 30 CEOs and executive directors or a one-on-one meeting with a annual awards breakfast sponsor, Roe's Deli's sandwiches and salads have fueled the Coalition's work in Pinellas County.

"I have Roe's Deli on my speed dial," says George Bolden, the Coalition's development director, who takes great pride in introducing new customers to the deli's owner, Chef Jack Caceci.

Cooking and travelling are passions for Caceci, who has been a chef for over 20 years. Jack has served as a chef on a yacht, a private catering chef in Atlanta, and was Bud Paxton's private chef. He also provided fare for Ronald Reagan's second inauguration in 1985.

Chef Jack has operated Roe's Deli at Park Station for just about four-and-a-half years now. He serves up to 500 people each week, and takes pride in catering meals for the various charitable, civic and community organizations that meet at Park Station such as the American Cancer Society, Healthy Start, Kiwanis Club, and of course, the Coalition. The deli offers a diverse catering menu of freshly-made foods. Whether dining in or having a catered affair, Roe's Deli can accommodate business breakfasts or lunches, holiday parties and special events and even wedding receptions. Jack is flexible and creative, often designing customized menus to meet any catering need--from a simple continental breakfast to high-end silver and crystal menus of smoked salmon and brie.

Satisfying people's palates is not Jack's only concern. He has a genuine concern for the plight of homeless people, and regularly donates excess food to the Suncoast Haven of Rest Rescue Mission just two blocks east of the deli. In spite of rising costs and a troubled economy, forcing many restaurants to shut down, Jack has worked hard to keep his prices the same for the past four years. No wonder why this nationally-awarded chef was choses as the Sam's Club Business Man of the Year in 2007.

Park Station, located at 5851 Park Blvd. in Pinellas Park, is the beautiful reproduction of an old-time train station and home to the Pinellas Park Art Society, the Pinellas Park Historical Society, the Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce and Pinellas Park 's Media & Public Events. At the heart of it all is Roe's Deli, where Chef Jack, his mother, Ginger, and the rest of the staff, keep everyone rolling along.
