Advocacy
An advocate is a person or organization who speaks or writes in support or defense of a person, group or cause. Advocacy is not activism. Activism is a policy of taking direct and militant action, such as a protest demonstration or march, to bring about social, political, economic, or environmental change. While activism has played a pivotal role in American life, the role of the Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless is that of an advocate.
As an organization, PCCH strives to advocate for those experiencing homelessness in our community, supporting them on their journey to wholeness, self-sufficiency and housing. PCCH is working to bring about the systemic changes necessary to prevent and end homelessness in our community. We hope you will join us in our efforts to raise awareness, remove barriers and provide resources. Working together, we can end homelessness in Pinellas County.
