Overview

The Recycling Donation Box Program has been established to provide congregations and organizations the opportunity to turn recycled clothing and other household donations into a passive revenue stream for themselves and the Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless. The Coalition has partnered with Suncoast Textile Recycling, which has volunteered to donate the proceeds from the donation boxes to the host congregation or organization and the Coalition.

Even in times of economic uneasiness, the smallest donation can bring great gains when added together with other donations countywide. Last year, the generous community donations provided over $390,000 for program services and kept over 4 million pounds of recyclable items out of our landfills. This is a win-win situation for everyone.

PCCH uses the proceeds from this program to help fund our various direct services, including: the Cold Night Shelter Program, the Free Bus Pass Program, incentives for the Annual Point-In-Time Homeless Count, and much more.

Suncoast Textile Recycling TrucksHow can your congregation or organization get involved? Hosting a donation box is a great way to create a steady stream of income for your congregation or organization. Just complete the PCCH Host Account Contact Information Form (below), and, at no cost to your congregatrion or organization, Suncoast Textile Recycling will place, in the location you designate, an attractive, environmentally-friendly, maintenance-free collection shed. Every week, a Suncoast Textile Recycling will visit the shed to collect the clothing donations, perform shed maintenance, and clean up the area around it. Please note that the items donated to hte Donation Box Program do not go to the homeless population of Pinellas County. Your congregation or organization will receive a monthly check from Suncoast Recycling from the proceeds of the donations collected from the sheds. For more program details, contact Steve DuCharme at suncoast.textile.recycling@gmail.com or 727-729-2862.
