The Michael Amidei Memorial Fund
This fund has been created in memory of Michael Amidei, an extraordinary volunteer committed to service for the most vulnerable people in Pinellas County and the State of Florida, especially those who are homeless. Families with children, single adults, veterans, long-term homeless, young people living on the 'street'….all found a real champion in Michael. He contributed thousands of hours for direct services over more than 20 years, and recruited hundreds of other volunteers who contributed time and resources also. He raised significant money to lead and be part of activities that directly served homeless persons, from the Cold Night Shelter Program (food and inside sleeping space when the nights became cold), to Undie Sundays (church-sponsored drives for new underwear and socks), to Tools for Schools (collecting and distributing backpacks filled with school supplies to homeless children).
All monies donated to the
Michael Amidei Memorial Fund will be used to benefit homeless adults and children directly, through the three activities named above and others, for items such as sleeping mats, food, backpacks, school supplies, underwear and more.
